Report on the 2025 World Games Competition Manager Meeting Reported by Wangki Cho Yuni Cobb I am pleased to provide a comprehensive report on the recent 2025 World Games-Competition Manager Meeting held in Chengdu, China from October 23rd to 26th, 2023. This meeting, attended by representatives of the International Racquetball Federation (IRF), aimed to address critical matters regarding the upcoming 2025 World Games (TWG). 1. Participation Overview: During the meeting, it was revealed that the 2025 TWG is anticipating an impressive turnout, with expectations of 34 sports disciplines, representation from over 100 countries, and participation from more than 5000 athletes. This diverse and extensive participation reflects the global significance of TWG. 2. ARF Members at the CM Meetings: The IRF was effectively represented by the following ARF members at the Competition Manager meetings: - Dr. Wang Ki Cho, President - Yuni Cobb, Secretary General - Chenghuan Li Director of International Relations 3. Meeting Highlights: One of the pivotal moments of the meeting was our one-on-one session with Ms. Zhang, the representative from the Local Organizing Committee (LOC). During this exchange, we articulated our key requests, which included the provision of two portable racquetball courts to enhance the promotion of racquetball and leave a lasting legacy after the 2025 TWG. We also emphasized the importance of having Chinese players represent the sport and securing a venue with increased spectator capacity. It is worth noting that Ms. Zhang displayed a high level of receptivity to our requests, and we received positive indications that our proposals will likely be accepted. We anticipate confirmation of these arrangements by the end of December this year. Furthermore, we have initiated collaboration with the International World Games Association (IWGA), which will lend its support in championing our requests during discussions with the Chinese National Sports Organization. In conclusion, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Osvaldo, the President, and the board of the IRF for entrusting the ARF with the responsibility of representing the racquetball community at this crucial gathering in Chengdu, China. Additionally, I would like to extend my recognition to Yuni Cobb and Chenghuan Li for their invaluable expertise and contributions that played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this meeting.

An organizing committee was formed to revise and reorganize the constitution. We drafted it by referring to the constitution of the International Racquetball Federation, the International Olympic Committee, and various organizations, and had a lawyer review and confirm the legality of the constitution.

Asia Racquetball Association had the 2021 special executive board meeting on 25th of November with 10 board members. We have discussed the steps we need to take for ARF to be ready to become a potential member of Asia Olympic Committee. It included marking changes to our current principles and procedures. The International Racquetball Federation represented by the President Osvaldo and Secretary General Luke and the Asia Racquetball Federation represented by the President, Dr Cho and the Secretary General, Yuni had a very productive and meaningful zoom meeting from 8:00am on May 9th in Korea time. The agenda consisted of the future development of racquetball in Asia and the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games in China. Also talked about the importance of Asia being represented at the 2021 World Racquetball Championships and Junior World Racquetball Championships. And also shared the news that 4 new courts are being built in Gang Nam district where the 2010 World Racquetball Championships was hosted. It is to be completed by October, 2021. Hangzhou, China, January 30, 2021: Organisers have released the image and landscape masterplan for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 which specifies how images - including emblems, the slogan, mascots and sport pictograms - will be used in and out of the venues and in the city landscape, reports China Xinhua Sports.
The masterplan - themed "a poem of the East and a window of China" - is a toolbox for visual images, public art design and night scenes design.
It will be applied in a variety of scenarios including competition venues, the Asian Games Village, official hotels and Asian Games-designated transportation vehicles, organising committee HAGOC said at the launch on Friday, January 29.
"The toolbox combines Hangzhou's features and smartness and encompasses not only static but also dynamic designs," said Cheng Zhaohui, who is mainly responsible for the project.
According to Guo Jinyong, who was in charge of night scenes design, the lighting of the venues and some landscape buildings of the city will be from the colour scheme of the Asian Games. Virtual reality will also be part of the design which might enable people to access live competition information after scanning certain directive signs.
"It is a demonstration of the culture of the Asian Games and of the host city Hangzhou and contributes to creating a poetic and smart city landscape and making the venues vigorous," Cheng said.
Cheng also noted that, although it took almost five months to finalise the masterplan, it is subject to refinement in the future as the toolbox is opened. The masterplan will be applied step by step in the city before presenting the world its final look in 2022.
The OCA’s 19th Asian Games will run from September 10-25, 2022, with 40 sports, 61 disciplines and 482 events.
